If you are in the mood for some festive holiday music, there are two upcoming concerts that you’re sure to enjoy at the Malibu Civic Theater.

Malibu Music Getting Ready for the Holidays with Holiday Music Concerts in Malibu1.  A Holiday Concert with the Emeritus College Concert Band

Join the City of Malibu and Santa Monica College as they present a Holiday Concert featuring the Emeritus College Concert Band. As the only community band in the Santa Monica/West Los Angeles area, it features 65 musicians ranging in age from young adults in their teens to senior citizens in their 80s.

Under the direction of Mike Corrigan, the Emeritus College Concert Band will play a classic selection of holiday tunes that will liven spirits just in time for Christmas and the New Year. The concert will also feature opening performances by the Malibu String Academy, under the direction of Dr. Maia Zander, and the Zuma Ensemble, directed by John Kibler.

The Holiday Concert will take place on Friday, December 9 at 7:30 pm. And best of all, it’s free to everyone and all ages are welcome.

2.  “La Vita E Bella” Fundraiser & Concert

If you’d like to do your part in helping Los Angeles’ at-risk, low-income and homeless youth and families during the holidays, the “La Vita E Bella” Fundraiser & Concert raises funds for the Children’s Lifesaving Foundation (CLF). The event is hosted by music industry legends Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo.

Maria D’Angelo founded the CLF in 1993. Her mission was to provide homeless and at-risk youth with primary and preventative healthcare. Many of those treated have been terminally ill with cancer, pediatric AIDS, asthma, diabetes, or were in need of reconstructive surgery and skin grafts. Today, the CLF has provided services to over 50,000 young people.

“La Vita E Bella” will also feature performances by gospel legend Sylvia St. James and the Malibu High Choral Department. This holiday concert will take place on Saturday, December 10 at 7:30 pm. For tickets, call (310) 450-3701.

The Malibu Civic Theater is located at 23825 Stuart Ranch Road, Malibu, CA 90265.
